DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

We have an innate connection with the natural world—it's fundamental to our wellbeing and shapes how we experience the spaces we inhabit. This connection runs deeper than aesthetics alone, so I approach interior design through a multisensory lens with particular attention to how a space feels.

Thoughtfully integrating natural elements into your home creates an environment which restores balance and enables you to genuinely thrive – considered lighting that shifts gracefully with the day, comforting textures you want to reach out and touch, scents that encourage you to slow down, colours which inspire, personal pieces that make you feel truly at ease.

Each project begins with understanding you – your lifestyle, daily rhythms, what makes you feel at home. Through this collaborative process, we craft elegant, thoughtfully layered interiors that are timeless, characterful, and entirely your own.

Working alongside a trusted circle of like-minded, skilled craftspeople I blend historic charm with modern comfort for interiors which are both eclectic and refined —not by chasing trends, but by crafting harmonious sanctuaries that stand the test of time.

ABOUT ME

I'm Rhi Thomas. I live in Combe Down, Bath with my husband, two young boys, and one magnificently unimpressed cat. We relocated from London in 2019, captivated by the stunning surroundings and gentle pace of life — the perfect setting for Studio 65.

My passion for interiors flourished when I moved to Italy at age 10, how I delighted in decorating my own bedroom! I’ve a deep, personal connection with the Mediterranean aesthetic and draw great inspiration from the natural world—it’s at the heart of what I do.

Our connection to nature has a direct and tangible effect on mental and physical wellbeing, something I explore through both design and scientific lenses. My background in Physics paved way for a career in technical and behavioural sciences – I’m innately curious about how things work and what makes people tick.

Inspired by the opportunity to transform lives through design, I established Studio 65 after several years in professional practice here in Bath. My design process centres on working in close collaboration with my clients, creating spaces where people can truly thrive.
